Senior Sport Performance Unlimited

Grades 9-12

This is GRIT Athletics Toronto’s Fall Unlimited Sport Performance Program.

Pay your Fall fee for our Senior High-Performance Strength and Conditioning sessions with our experienced coaches and join as many times per week as you can during our morning and/or afternoon windows:

7-9am MON-FRI

4-6pm MON, WED, FRI

This program is rooted in the same evidenced-based, field-proven training principles we use with our professional athletes and is adapted to each athlete’s age and developmental stage. Each athlete’s program is based on an individual assessment, sport, training history, specific requirements. Each session is led and closely monitored by a full time qualified professional coach who is committed to maximizing each athlete’s training session. This program can be adapted to an athlete in their off-season or that are in the midst of a championship run!

Junior Sport Performance – After School

Grades 2-6

Sprint, Evade, Defend, Jump, Roll, Climb, Catch, Throw, Duck, Dive, Slide and Push and Pull…This is GRIT’s Jr Sport Performance Athletic Development program!

This program is designed to prepare young athletes for the coming rigors of sport as well as help deal with the physical and mental COVID trauma our children faced in the last 16 months. It is built upon countless years of research on childhood and youth athletic development and training windows, understanding they are not mini-adults and require a properly designed evidenced-based program that reflects their current physiological and cognitive developmental stage. 

All of our youth programs are rooted in fun and focused on creating an optimal learning environment for maximum engagement. We place a strong focus on exploration, physical literacy, building adaptable movers with a sense of time and space and exceptional problem-solvers.

Each session includes:

  • motor skill development (jumping, crawling, balance, climbing, catching, throwing),
  • speed (racing, chasing, evading, change of direction)
  • spatial awareness (being create time and space as offensive player and being able to take away time and space as a defender)
  • focus on being confident decision makers in pressured situations and provide athletes with the opportunity to fail and try again and again
  • age-appropriate strength training. 

These skills will be taught through a variety of developmental programs, such as games, sports, obstacle courses, movement challenges and strength training. The program will be LOUD, FAST, COMPETITIVE and CHALLENGING and most importantly FUN! And although it may be rigorous, it will also be rewarding. Athletes will develop physically and personally; they will learn to “never quit’, learn to embrace the struggle, and build lasting bonds with their peers and coaches. They will learn that sports are not about being the best, but about using sports as a platform to pursue the best possible version of themselves. 

 

Speed and Power

Grades 5-8, Grades 9-12

All else being equal on the field, track or ice, the athlete who has the most speed will win. Every athlete can improve their speed with a systematic and progressive approach. This program is designed to help each athlete reach their own personal speed potential.

The training is directed to improve reaction, starting, first-step quickness, acceleration, top speed, body awareness, change of direction, obstacle avoidance, and footwork. It incorporates both Linear Speed development and Multidimensional Speed and Agility; the two dimensions of speed the athlete must possess to be successful in their chosen sport from a speed perspective.

The athlete will learn and master:

  • Proper warm-up for speed development training to enhance performance and prevent injury
  • Posture
  • Arm action
  • Leg action
  • Correct starting mechanics
  • Correct acceleration mechanics
  • Change of direction progression
  • Proper first-step mechanics to improve first-step quickness and understanding the importance and application of footwork to effective multi-dimensional movement
  • How to apply speed to your game

Upon completion of this program – depending on the athlete’s progress, athletic profile re-test results, and personal goals – the athlete should see improvement in their basic speed on the Speed Performance Indicators. We recommend that the athletes enrol in consecutive seasons in order to stabilize their improvement and to make further progress.

Youth Sport Ready

Grades 2-4

The Sport Ready Athletic Development program is designed upon countless years of research that has gone into childhood and youth athletic development. Children are not mini-adults and require a properly designed evidenced-based program that reflects their current physiological and cognitive developmental stage. 

All of our youth programs are rooted in fun and focused on creating an optimal learning environment for maximum engagement. We place a strong focus on physical literacy, building adaptable movers with a sense of time and space and exceptional problem-solvers. Each session includes motor skill development, speed, change of direction, spatial awareness, decision making and age-appropriate strength training. Although the program may be rigorous, it will also be rewarding. Athletes will not only develop physically but also personally. They will learn to “never quit’, that vulnerability is strength, and build lasting bonds with both their peers and coaches. They will learn that sports are not about being the best, but about using sports as a platform to pursue the best possible version of themselves. 

At the end of this program GRIT athletes will not only be prepared to handle their sport but also have learned humility, resilience, and developed the personal endurance to handle whatever life throws at them.

Junior High Performance

Grades 5-8

The Youth Junior High Performance Athletic Development program is designed upon countless years of research that has gone into childhood and youth athletic development. Children are not mini-adults and require a properly designed evidenced-based program that reflects their current physiological and cognitive developmental stage.

All of our youth programs are rooted in fun and focused on creating an optimal learning environment for maximum engagement. We place a strong focus on physical literacy, building adaptable movers with a sense of time and space and exceptional problem-solvers.

Every Athlete in this program will undergo our unique Assessment and Testing Protocol

GRIT is committed to providing each of our athletes with an in depth and intensive assessment protocol. Our priority in assessing an athlete is to identify imbalances and to address them through improving functional movement mechanics with the goal of creating adaptable, athletic and resilient movers.

This Includes:

  • Athletic competency movement screen
  • Strength & Performance Testing
  • Developmental stage/Sport/Position-Appropriate Programming
  • Athlete Profile

The JHP program consists of:

  • Pre, During and Post Testing: Athletes will be tested going into the program with specific tests done weekly to track progress using world class sport science & technology equipment such as Force Plates, Timing Gates, 1080 motion.
  • Professional coaches with CSCS Certification on a 4:1 athlete to coach ratio, including a professional speed coach and mobility specialist who work alongside our strength and conditioning team.
  • Program designed and over seen by Coach Daniel Noble, Co Owner & Director of Athletic Performance
  • Individualized coaching and modified programming suited to each athlete’s physical needs athletes.
  • Post-workout meal plans can be included in program (at additional cost)

Senior High Performance

Grades 9-12

Coach Noble’s Sports Performance program has developed some of the GTA’s best athletes over the last 15 years. This program is rooted in the same evidenced-based, field-proven training principles we use with our professional athletes and is adapted to each athlete’s age and developmental stage. Each athlete’s program is based on an individual assessment, sport, training history, specific requirements. Each session is led and closely monitored by a full time qualified professional coach who is committed to maximizing each athlete’s training session. Athletes will also receive mentoring around lifestyle habits, nutrition and personal leadership. This program can be adapted to an athlete in their off-season or that are in the midst of a championship run!

Every Athlete in this program will undergo:

  • In depth Biomechanical Assessment and performance testing battery
  • Sport/Position-Appropriate Programming
  • Tailored programming based on developmental stage and specific needs of each individual athlete.

The SHP program consists of:

  • Weekly assessment and progress tracking
  • Professional coaches with CSCS Certification on a 4:1 athlete to coach ratio, including a professional speed coach and mobility specialist who work alongside our strength and conditioning team.
  • Work Directly under Coach Noble, Co owner and Director of Athletic Performance
  • Individualized coaching and customized programming designed based off of test results and progress.
  • Post-workout meal plans can be included in program at an additional cost
  • Blood tests and nutritional counselling (external services at additional cost)

Professional athletes demand a highly customized training program delivered by a highly qualified and experienced coach. Every Pro GRIT athlete’s program will be directly overseen and coached by Coach Dan Noble. There will be no figurehead coaching here. We are hands on and committed to taking each athlete’s game in this program to another level. Coach Noble is no stranger to training professional athletes having worked with pros in the NHL, AHL, CFL and Olympians. From Gold Medals to championships, Dan Noble’s proven coaching methods and personalized committed approach have been game changing for GRIT Pros. Dan Noble has helped some of the best athletes in the world get even better!
